Hypotheses of Brotherhood
1.) Everything in the universe can be governed under one theory. "Imperfect brotherhood" ahi (pronounced ahee not akhee, this is because of the imperfection of brotherhood)2.) Everything in the universe does two things to our brothers at the same time. Pushes them away and brings them closer, since the better that we come to knowing our brothers, the more the need to push away other brothers.
3.) Brotherhood both pains and comforts at the same time, since everything in the universe is governed under our attitudes towards everything in the universe.
4.) Brotherhood is a crude, imperfect science because human beings are imperfect and in order for us to see others as our brothers, it may not be easy. Seeing how we fit in together may require some stretch of the imagination, however if we think hard enough, we will always find something in common with each other because we are all humans, we all have that in common.
5.) All of us have things we can offer our brothers as well as things we can gain from them.
6.) We should strive to give of ourselves selflessly, without expecting anything back in return, because if everyone did this, with this attitude, then everyone's needs would be dealt with in the highest degree attainable.
Applications of brotherhood
examples of things we encounter in the universe and how they affect brotherhood. As well as advice on how to handle it. I have not provided illustrations as what they are as I don't want to put limitations on what could be in these categories. Just think and try to find a category for which each belongs to.1.) Comforts
Comforts bring comfort to those who have them but pain to those who do not. Brotherhood responsibility is to make efforts to provide for those who do not have.
2.) Governing systems
Govern those under their authority. Some affect all brother the same and some differently but all give us communion with our brothers as they give a basis to relate to our brothers on. Self-expression also provides a basis for relation to our brothers.
3.) Awards and Encouragement
Allow us to uphold traits in our brothers that we value and cause us to feel special and valued. Give rewards and recognition generously, but make sure it is always from the heart, as false recognition cheapens true recognition.
4.) Attitudes.
Some people have positive ones, some negative ones. There is good in everyone and there is bad in everyone. Respect different opinions and keep an open-mind but don't let people stray you into negative beliefs. Keep a firm grasp on the things you believe are important to you, also be careful not to coerce your brother into a stance they are in disagreement of. In doing this we maintain our own and our brothers sense of self and dignity.
5.) Catastrophes
Give us a chance to become closer to each other through giving us a chance to exemplify what it means to love and help our brothers
6.) Dreams
govern only the dreamer and not necessarily anyone else but them. They give us a sense of who we are creating inner peace which translates to outer peace. Friedrich Nietzsche gives some advice relating to striving towards achieving our dreams and handling disappointment. I do not agree with all of the views expressed in this video, particularly the view that religion should be replaced entirely by other elements of culture. I see religion as an additional element with it's own relevance in culture.
7.) Reversals
Things that are good for some but not good for others based on opinion of the individual. If this is the case and the system has held, then there is clearly something to learn from both sides of the opinion. Since if a system was not good it would not hold. Find a middle ground.
If a system is innately grounded on things that are not good, then the system will inevitably collapse. Either though rebellion or through self-collapse. Do not have anything to do with a system you believe is not good.
Good will always triumph over evil, because good is desirable for all and evil is not. Because time is infinite, we have infinite amount of time to resolve our problems, because good is desirable by all and evil is not, the evil will eventually triumph over the evil because it is what the majority wants. Majority rules.
If someone does something that you are in disagreement of, you can respond in this method
step 1: Question them on why they believe this is the way it should be. Keep an open-mind but take hold onto what you believe. Make your opinion known as well.
step 2: If you still don't agree with their behaviour, make an effort to make your viewpoint known. Whether it be total opposite or somewhere in the middle ground.
People on all sides of the fence are needed.
-People that are like you do not agree with people that are not like you. But we can still be brothers
-People in the middle ground are usually in the majority, they provide a line of uniformity for brothers to conform to. Wars are prevented because of people in the middle ground. They are the people that keep both sides sane.
-People on your side provide something to strive towards.
People on all sides are reinforced through their brotherhood in finding people who think like them. Make an effort to see your brother on your other side as imperfect, though. Not evil or wrong, just a flawed person, as we all are.
Disagreements are always going to occur and are evidence of a thinking mind. Therefore I encourage you to take a stance.
8.) People
People are the embodiment of all these things.
